Is Arthrlegitimate?

Yes. Here is who we are, who holds the licence, and how to check both.

Arthr is Arthr Pty Ltd, an Australian company in Bondi Beach. It builds the technology and does the marketing. Who is behind it

Jeremy Fisher is the director and founder of 1st Street Financial. A mortgage broker since 2002 and Credit Representative 490057. His team at 1st Street writes the loans. Graeme Pillemer is the other co-founder and builds the software and the AI behind it. Both are on the About page with links to their public profiles. 1st Street Financial has teams in Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast, is a member of the MFAA and the FBAA, and is a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.

Why two companies

Because Australian law regulates the advice, not the software. Recommending a loan and lodging it is credit assistance, which only a licensee or an authorised credit representative may do. Arthr Pty Ltd does neither. It prices lenders, runs the sums and introduces you to a broker. 1st Street Financial gives the advice, owes you a best-interests duty, and answers to ASIC and AFCA for it. The split is on the AI mortgage broker page, and it is the reason a person is always in the loop.

Questions

Is Arthr a legitimate company?

Yes. Arthr is Arthr Pty Ltd, ABN 39 697 205 486, an Australian company at Shop 1, 84 Curlewis Street, Bondi Beach NSW 2026, reachable on 1300 086 892 and at hello@arthr.com.au. You can confirm the ABN on the Australian Business Register. Arthr Pty Ltd provides the technology and the marketing. It does not hold a credit licence and does not give credit assistance; that is done by 1st Street Financial, below.

Is Arthr a licensed mortgage broker?

The broking is done by 1st Street Pty Ltd, trading as 1st Street Financial, ABN 29 101 256 348, which is Credit Representative 490057 authorised under Australian Credit Licence 389328. That is the number to check on ASIC's professional registers: search the credit representative register for 490057. Arthr Pty Ltd itself is not a credit representative and is not licensed, and does not need to be, because it does not recommend loans or lodge them.

Who is behind Arthr?

Two people. Jeremy Fisher, director and founder of 1st Street Financial. A mortgage broker since 2002 and Credit Representative 490057. His team at 1st Street writes the loans. Graeme Pillemer, co-founder. Builds the software and the AI behind it. Both are named on the About page, and both have public profiles you can check.

How is Arthr paid?

Not by you, on a standard residential loan. 1st Street Financial receives a commission from the lender when a loan settles, disclosed in the credit guide before you proceed. It does not change your rate or your fees. Anything outside the standard service is quoted before it starts.

What happens if something goes wrong?

1st Street Financial is a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, the external dispute scheme every credit licensee must belong to, and of the MFAA and FBAA, the broking industry bodies. If a complaint is not resolved with the broker, AFCA is free to use and its decisions bind the licensee. That is the protection a licence buys you, and it is why Arthr's model keeps a licensed person in the advice seat.

Is Arthr's AI safe to use?

The AI checks lenders' rates and servicing rules and does the sums. It does not decide anything about you and does not lodge anything. Your information is handled under the Privacy Act and Arthr's privacy policy, linked in the footer. The figures it shows are the lenders' own, each with the date it was priced, so you can see how current they are.
